Trying to beat the heat...

Oh my gosh guys! It is SO Hot!
Even my eyeballs are hot! We have central air here in the house, but, and it's a big but...we need to replace the attic fan before we use it! So it's just a floor fan and window fan in the living room and studio till then. Our bedroom has A/C, Thank Goodness! I think I'd just die if that wasn't the case.

This sort of heat just stops you in your tracks. You find yourself saying..."Wait, what was I doing? Wait, what was I saying? Wait, where was I going?" My only saving grace is dipping away into my bedroom to breathe and think like a human being for a few minutes here and there.

Me, Aaron and the pups decided to just surrender and "pretend" the heat doesn't own us. So we started a project I have had in mind for a few months. (It'll be a tutorial too) We have a small wall in the studio that needed a little bit of "happy".  So far I think it's going to fit that bill! We hope to have it finished by tomorrow night.  I'm excited about it. :)

(As you can see, these guys are of no help. )

We are also pretty excited about The Walking Dead Season 3 preview tomorrow night! Eee! Anyone else?

Ohh..and these are so getting made this weekend!

Okie doke, just wanted to pop in and say hello! Hope you guys are keeping cool and enjoying your weekend!

Love from the NJ Shore!

  4. Oh man I don't know if I'd be able to stand being in a house with no heat! Especially here in Mississippi! Kudos to you and your clan, missy. Can't wait to see the tutorial : )

  5. Love how the wall is coming, the cute doggies and those Oreo popsicles! Try to keep cool! I know it's miserable here too so I have no idea how you can only have fans and not melt! Hugs, Leena

  7. ooo...lovely wall project!
Thank goodness it hasn't been that hot here in SoCal YET... usually by this time of year you're sweating from the moment you leave the shower!
So far we've had 80's but I'm sure we'll be catching up to you guys soon :(

  8. Eek, I don't envy your weather. It's probably about 70 degrees or so in Seattle right now during the day. Which is fortunate since we don't have AC or fans at my house. I do have to run the AC at work a bit because it starts getting pretty hot when the blow dryers are going.
I'm watching the Walking Dead marathon of seasons one and two right now :)

  9. That project looks so cute, I'm about to paint my room too, just trying to pick a color, which was not as easy as I thought lol!

And I don't envy all that heat, it has been upwards of 100 degrees here until the past week when our monsoon season started. Keep cool! The dogs are sure trying ;)

And I hate to rush you, but will you be able to take those photos for me anytime soon? Let me know. :)

  10. Oooh, I'm liking the look of that wall! We're pretty lucky over here in that the temps usually don't go over 90, and even that is a rarity. I hope you can manage to make it bearable!

I understand about heat! Here is another yummy popsicle recipe that may also help you cool down. I want to try it sometime soon. http://www.julieannart.com/2012/07/red-white-and-blue-popsicle-recipe-by.html

  19. Oh, those oreo popsicles. YUM. I am starting to become really addicted to cookies n creme.

It's a little hard for me to remember what crazy hot weather feels like right now, since it just started getting nice here! Yikes. Hopefully it cools down enough at night to give you a bit of a break?

When it gets warm out, I get really worried about my laptop! It has a metal case and I'm afraid it's just going to pass out from heat exhaustion one day. =)
