Hi guys! Happy Friday! Nope, your eyes are not playing tricks on you...Friday Favorites are back! Jeez, it has been a while! Things got so hectic around here with the paper collection, and book stuff, and then of course the holidays...overall, there was just too much stuff happening, and I could scarcely find a moment to focus on raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...or any other favorite things.
So, I'm hoping that the return of Friday Favorites will also signal a return to a semi-normal schedule here at home. I LOVE sharing my weekly eye candy with you guys...giving you a place to do some internet window shopping for wish list types of things, gift ideas, recipes, etc...
I'm so flattered by all of the messages I received, asking for the resurrection of my Friday Favorites! I'm gonna try my best to consistently bookmark and collect all of the inspiring things that come across my desk during the week. My inspiration will be your inspiration.
Well, let's kick this week's favorites off with the adorable Valentine printables seen above, from Sugar and Charm. Yes...super cool stickers adhered to individually boxed donuts. So sweet! And they're cute, but not too cute. You could still get away with handing them out to the fellas in your life.
Now I'm pretty sure I've blogged one or both of these TPS file cabinets from CB2 in the past, but who cares?!! They are so darn cute, and they just so happened to end up on my radar again this week! I honestly don't know how I would choose between them. Most people figure that my fave color is pink...when at heart I'm an aqua girl. But in this case I'm actually leaning toward the pink one. I've got the aqua Raskog cart from IKEA...and if I went with this pink file cabinet, the studio furniture relationships would be much more harmonious...I think Raskog and TPS would end up being BFF's.
This yarn bombed bus stop made me smile really big! It's adorable, hilarious, and incredibly impressive!! First off...the hat is a genius idea. Add the fact that it's pink...and WOW! This is yarn bombing at it's most adorable for sure!!
And then we have this old timey sleepy kitty photo. Need I say more?
This is Magical Maryann, who has more style in her fabulous pinkie than an entire graduating class at FIT. I'm a big fan of the Advanced Style blog, which is where you'll find a great featurette on Maryann's style. Make sure to click the link and watch the video. You'll love her simple, nearly zen-like approach to cultivating personal style.
Ok...I think these are one of those love or hate types of things. As for me...LOVE! Liquid Gold Nike Air Max! Just ridiculously fab! I'd kick 'em with an all black outfit. They were retailing for about $140. But of course...before you got the chance to even reach for your wallet, they were all sold out...Everywhere. Currently they can be found on ebay going for crazy amounts...like seriously, 4 times the original retail price!
Ok, Boardwalk Empire! From the very beginning! I know that we're extremely late to the party...but the long delay has only amped up our enthusiasm for this fantastic show.
People always ask me if I watch certain tv shows...and more often than not my answer is "Nope...we don't have Fancy cable." Being that we don't watch much tv, we just opted for basic cable. Sure, we work from home, but we're usually very focussed on the task at hand, so it would be impossible to watch tv while doing work. So all day and most of the night we listen to music. And working from home also means that it's hard to determine when the work day ends and when leisure time begins...so the tv will often remain off while we continue to work into the evening. When we do turn on the tv it is for The Walking Dead...and Breaking Bad when that was still on the air.
But one time as a promotion we got a free month of HBO...and that was just enough time for us to get fully caught up to date with the show Girls. But then the season ended and so did our free month of HBO. We looked at the line-up at that point in time and decided against getting HBO for real. Then when we were out in California a couple weeks ago, the hotel room had HBO and our stay coincided with the season premier of Girls. Ok...long story short...we got reeled in. Last sunday we were here at home, bummed, just knowing that Girls was on and we were sitting here without Fancy cable. So we looked into the pricing, and it's not bad at all. We pulled the trigger...and now we are officially FANCY cable people. Ok...here's where the story gets awesome for us. We discovered HBO GO...which is the internet version of HBO. And it's included in your regular HBO package. Pretty much everything that was ever on HBO is on the site! Every episode of every series is sitting there just waiting for us to stream away. Our first target was Boardwalk Empire...a show we had been dying to watch. Oh man...it's soooo good. We've been watching it in bed on our laptop right before we go to sleep. We're on episode 5 right now and we've got 40 something to go. We feel absolutely spoiled rotten. There is so much about the show that is great, but even on the most basic level it works for us. We just feel intrinsically connected to Atlantic City. It's right in our backyard...it's this place that your friends and family will frequent on any given tuesday...and yet, it's got this crazy mythical history. Any show or movie set in 1920's America will be interesting enough. Locating it in Atlantic City is just plain bananas. We are hooked on this show. And oh jeez...we get to watch it straight through...none of that 'tune in next week' stuff.
Ok, that's all. I can't believe that I ended this post with an hour long essay on HBO! ha!
I'll be back soon with more of our regular scheduled programming.
xo, Jenny...and Aaron says hi!
